CORPORATE HISTORY
We started as the Aviation Department of Kaigai Bussan Kabushiki Kaisha which was established in 1967 to supply to meet increasing demands of communication and aviation electronics as aviation and space program industry rapidly grew.
We were not a mere trading company who just imported such instruments, we also put emphasis on the repair and maintenance fields, and gave our efforts to obtain and develop necessary technology from the beginning.
We have established a firm position in the aviation industry in Japan as a general distributor of more than ten major foreign aviation instrument manufacturers including the Bendix/King, the leading manufacturer of the world in this business, and Mooney Aircraft, one of the four biggest small aircraft manufacturers in the United States.
We have been commended almost every year by Bendix/King (currently Honeywell) as the top distributor of their radio instruments in the world.
We obtained a business permission under the Aircraft Business Law from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, and authorization for repair factory for autopilot by the Defense Agency, for repair factory for aviation radar by RCA Corporation, USA.
We also provided technical cooperation to Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. for their development of BK117 helicopter and to All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. to develop small-scale auto measuring instrument.
We not only put our best effort to import and sell the products but also exerted ourselves to improve our technology.
As the result of our effort, Kaigai Bussan Kabushiki Kaisha held more than 90% share for the communication devices of domestic aircraft excluding regular airfreight companies and the Defense Agency related area.
Aiming to become the expert of aviation and industrial electronic instruments and to supply further increasing demands, the Aviation Department of Kaigai Bussan Kabushiki Kaisha became independent and re-established as Kaigai Aviotech Corporation in February, 1988.
In addition to our business in aviation communication and navigation instruments since establishment of the company, we also started importing high-performance searchlight for helicopter, homing device and receiver for search and rescue, aviation outfits for repair and development and infrared thermography.
We were appointed as an authorized inspection factory by Toshiba Corporation for telemeter transmitter for the Defense Agency.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. recently adopted Honeywell (ex. Bendix/King) products as the type certified standard electronic instruments by the Ministry of Transport for their latest helicopter, MH2000.
AlliedSignal Honeywell merged in December, 1999 and became Honeywell Inc.
which resulted in even stronger structure as the aviation electronic instrument manufacturer.
Honeywell’s aviation electronic instruments were adopted as standard equipment for the new training planes of the air self-Defense Force delivered after 2002.
Type certification for Artex’s aviation rescue radio transmitters, ARTEX ELT110/100MH, ARTEX 110-406, ARTEX B406 and ARTEX C406 as the specified emergency rescue device by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport was permitted in December 2002.
These devices have been adopted by various aircraft manufacturers.
The Defense Agency adopted Honeywell’s Traffic alert and Collision Avoidance System, TCAS-1, and the first aircraft equipped with the system was delivered in November, 2004.
We started selling AW119Ke KOALA, single-engine multiple task helicopter, AW109E POWER, dual-engine multiple task helicopter, and GRAND, dual-engine long-body helicopter, from June 2007 when we became a selling agent of Agustawestland, an Italian helicopter manufacturer.
We opened Agustawestland Spare Parts Supply Center in our headquarter building at the Tokyo Heliport in June 2009 to improve convenience to our clients who purchased from us.
We, at the same time, started importing and selling of start-packs, small and light high-performance batteries.
We also signed a selling agent agreement with Max-Vizand started selling infra-red sensor which reduces workload of crews and makes flight safer as it improves visual recognition of obstacle ahead at night or in bad weather.

We will keep introducing new technology and new products for you.
